Payment Methods

Configure the payment methods you accept so they're easy to select when recording payments.

Default Payment Methods

Elona CRM comes with common methods:

  • Cash
  • Bank Transfer
  • Mobile Money
  • Card
  • Cheque

Adding a Payment Method

1. Go to Settings

Navigate to SettingsPayment Methods.

2. Click Add

Click Add Payment Method or + New.

3. Enter Details

  • Name - How it appears in dropdowns (e.g., "M-Pesa")
  • Description (optional) - Additional context
  • Active - Toggle to show/hide in selection

4. Save

Click Save to add the method.

Editing Payment Methods

  1. Go to SettingsPayment Methods
  2. Click on the method to edit
  3. Update name or status
  4. Save

Deleting Payment Methods

caution

You cannot delete payment methods that have been used in transactions. Deactivate them instead.

To deactivate:

  1. Edit the payment method
  2. Toggle Active off
  3. Save

Payment Method on Invoices

Include your payment details on invoices:

  1. Go to SettingsCompany Details or Invoice Settings
  2. Add your bank account, mobile money number, or other payment info
  3. This appears on all invoices

Best Practices

  • Keep method names short and clear
  • Include specific details (e.g., "Equity Bank" not just "Bank")
  • Add new methods as you start accepting them
  • Deactivate methods you no longer use
