Payment Methods
Configure the payment methods you accept so they're easy to select when recording payments.
Default Payment Methods
Elona CRM comes with common methods:
- Cash
- Bank Transfer
- Mobile Money
- Card
- Cheque
Adding a Payment Method
1. Go to Settings
Navigate to Settings → Payment Methods.
2. Click Add
Click Add Payment Method or + New.
3. Enter Details
- Name - How it appears in dropdowns (e.g., "M-Pesa")
- Description (optional) - Additional context
- Active - Toggle to show/hide in selection
4. Save
Click Save to add the method.
Editing Payment Methods
- Go to Settings → Payment Methods
- Click on the method to edit
- Update name or status
- Save
Deleting Payment Methods
caution
You cannot delete payment methods that have been used in transactions. Deactivate them instead.
To deactivate:
- Edit the payment method
- Toggle Active off
- Save
Payment Method on Invoices
Include your payment details on invoices:
- Go to Settings → Company Details or Invoice Settings
- Add your bank account, mobile money number, or other payment info
- This appears on all invoices
Best Practices
- Keep method names short and clear
- Include specific details (e.g., "Equity Bank" not just "Bank")
- Add new methods as you start accepting them
- Deactivate methods you no longer use
