Common Errors

Explanations and solutions for error messages you might see.

Access & Permission Errors​

"You don't have permission to access this"​

Cause: Your role doesn't include this feature.

Fix:

  • Ask your admin to grant access
  • Or use an account with appropriate permissions

"Session expired. Please log in again."​

Cause: You've been inactive too long.

Fix:

  • Log in again
  • Normal behavior for security

"Account suspended"​

Cause: Account disabled by admin or system.

Fix:

  • Contact your administrator
  • May be billing or policy issue

Data Errors​

"This record cannot be found"​

Cause: Record was deleted or you don't have access.

Fix:

  • Check if it was deleted
  • Verify you have permission to view it
  • The link may be outdated

"Duplicate entry detected"​

Cause: Trying to create something that already exists.

Fix:

  • Search for existing record
  • Edit existing instead of creating new
  • If truly unique, contact support

"Required field missing"​

Cause: Mandatory field left empty.

Fix:

  • Fill in all fields marked with * or "required"
  • Save again

"Invalid format"​

Cause: Data entered incorrectly.

Common examples:

  • Email missing @ symbol
  • Phone number with letters
  • Date in wrong format

Fix: Enter data in correct format.

Invoice Errors​

"Cannot edit: Invoice already sent"​

Cause: Sent invoices are locked.

Fix:

  • Void the invoice and create new one
  • Or add a credit note for adjustments

"Invoice number already exists"​

Cause: Duplicate invoice number.

Fix:

  • System should auto-generate unique numbers
  • Check settings if duplicates keep happening

"Customer required"​

Cause: No customer selected for invoice.

Fix: Select a customer before saving.

Payment Errors​

"Amount exceeds invoice total"​

Cause: Recording more than what's owed.

Fix:

  • Verify the amount
  • If overpayment, confirm and proceed (creates credit)

"Payment method not configured"​

Cause: Trying to use unavailable payment method.

Fix:

  • Admin needs to enable the method in settings
  • Or choose different method

File Errors​

"File too large"​

Cause: Upload exceeds size limit.

Fix:

  • Compress the file
  • Use smaller image
  • Check size limits in settings

"File type not supported"​

Cause: Wrong file format.

Fix:

  • Check allowed formats (usually PDF, JPG, PNG)
  • Convert to supported format

Network Errors​

"Network error. Please try again."​

Cause: Connection problem.

Fix:

  • Check internet connection
  • Refresh the page
  • Try again in a moment

"Request timeout"​

Cause: Server took too long to respond.

Fix:

  • Server may be busy
  • Try again in a few moments
  • If persists, contact support

"Service unavailable"​

Cause: Temporary server issues.

Fix:

  • Wait a few minutes
  • Check status page if available
  • Contact support if prolonged

System Errors​

"Something went wrong"​

Cause: Unexpected error.

Fix:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Try the action again
  3. If repeats, note what you did
  4. Contact support with details

"Error code: XXX"​

Cause: Specific system error.

Fix:

  • Note the error code
  • Contact support with the code
  • They can identify the issue quickly

Preventing Errors​

  • Save work frequently
  • Keep browser updated
  • Maintain stable internet
  • Don't use browser back button for navigation
  • Log out properly when done
