Edit a Customer

Keep your customer information up to date to ensure accurate invoicing and communication.

Steps

1. Find the Customer

Go to Customers and search for the customer you want to edit.

2. Open Their Profile

Click on the customer's name to open their profile.

3. Click Edit

Click the Edit button (usually a pencil icon or "Edit" text).

4. Update Information

Change any fields you need:

  • Name
  • Phone
  • Email
  • Address
  • Company name
  • Notes

5. Save

Click Save to apply your changes.

What You Can't Change

Some information may be locked:

  • Customer ID - System-generated, can't be changed
  • Invoice history - Historical records are preserved

Tips

  • Update email addresses promptly to ensure invoices reach your customers
  • Use notes to track changes (e.g., "Changed address on 2026-02-08")
  • If a customer has a new business name, update the company field
